2 Simple Ways to Navigate Fear of the Times

Updated: Oct 12, 2020

COVID, wild fires, job loss, Zoom oh my! Fear of the the unknown and the known are intense emotions that get stored in the body and then manifest into our thoughts.

Fear is an emotion induced by a perceived danger or threat. Yes, we've experienced the danger of: COVID, isolation, loss and much more. There's still a threat of catching COVID and a threat to our old existence that we grew to know as "normal". The human body wasn't designed to live in a state of chronic fear. Fear was for running when a predator was chasing us. Not to live our life in. When we experience fear on the daily, the body starts to weaken your immune system, rake havoc on your hormones, digestion and not to mention relationships. Which is the exact opposite of what we really want. I'll share with you two easy ways to release the anxiety and fear.

The first thing we can do is BREATHE!

Every cell in our body depends on oxygen. If we're not feeding our cells with oxygen it provides only enough for the cells to survive and there's no way for the cells to thrive causing weaken of the immune system, mood, mental stability and memory. Shallow breathing can even cause digestive issues.

Try This: Sit in a chair or criss cross (easy pose) on the ground with a straight spine chin parallel to the floor. You will take your pointer finger pad (Jupiter Finger) and touch it to your thumb pad, palms up resting on your knees. Close your eyes and focus at brow point. Inhale through the nose filling the belly and mentally saying SAT(truth). On the exhale mentally say Nam(essence) as the belly pulls into towards the spine and continue for 3-11 minutes and watch the quality of your thoughts elevate as your breathing in your body.

Choose to move the energy out of the body.

The second way is to experience Kundalini Yoga and Meditation. Fear resides in the Solar Plexus the 3rd Chakra. It's located under your ribs and in the diaphragm. It's connected to the adrenal glands and digestive system. This chakra regulates our fears, sense of power and that "gut feeling". When out of balance we experience fears, anxiety and loss of control. Kundalini works with the breath and all of the chakras to help clear and reset energy while and stimulating the hormones and peptides in the body so you can start to feel good. Meditation will give your cells oxygen, your mind a cleaning and your soul some love.

Always remember you can't control emotions, you can learn to respond vs react. When we take fear and anxiety to the light we hold calm and peace in our hearts.
